Away from the established worksites at Starr Gate and in Fleetwood, much progress in currently taking place at many locations along the tramway, and these are:
North Pier: All rail has ben removed from Church Street to North Pier, and the outline of the future three track layout between Church Street and Talbot Road is becoming evident. The trackbed is being laid and new rail has been delivered to the site. No rail removal has yet commenced around the Metropole Hotel.
North Promenade: All rail has been removed from Cocker Street to Warley Road, and the track bed excavated to a substantial depth to allow for a solid concrete foundation to be laid. New rail is now in place close to Pleasant Street, but severe weather during late December has slowed this work down considerably.
Anchorsholme: Rail has been removed from Melton Place to just beyond the Fleetwood Road crossing. Grooved rail is now in place over the road crossing as the contractor seeks to complete this at the earliest opportunity to restore the normal road traffic flow.
Cleveleys: Rail has been removed from Victoria Square to Stockdove Way, with a new crossover in place north of York Road to replace the former one in the square itself.
Rossall Beach: The section of line from Rossall Beach to Westbourne Road has been removed for replacement, as has the road crossing at Rossall Lane. (pictured, 2)
Broadwater: With the road crossing closed to general traffic, rail has been removed from here to Larkholme Lane which has included removing the little used crossover at Broadwater. (pictured, 3)
As well as this, platforms are now in various stages of construction at Starr Gate, Abercorn Place, Burlington Road West, South Pier, Waterloo Road, St Chads Road, Manchester Square, Cliffs, Cabin, Lowther Avenue, Cavendish Road, Sandhurst Avenue, Norbreck, Kendall Avenue, Rossall Lane, Lindel Road and London Street. Of note, the platforms at Manchester Square are to be built on the north side of the junction with Lytham Road. (pictured, 1)
