726 runs lights tour for FTS

The Fylde Tramway Society commemorated the last day of the 2010 operating season by hiring Balloon 726 for their annual illuminations tour, deferred to the last weekend of the season to avoid clashing with the 125th anniversary events in September. 726 is a popular tram with enthusiasts, as it is now one of only two unrefurbished second series Balloons still in service (the other being 715), and with no guarantee that it will see further use next season this may well have been its final use. Having said that, with four Balloons in various stages of centre door modification (and with the possibility that work will begin on others this winter), there may be a shortage of double deck trams nex year which would allow the unrefurbished survivors to once again save the day!
